2012 Publishing Goals

2012 Publishing Goals

Hey man, everybody else is doing it, and if I’m not a conformist, I dunno what I am.

Here’s what you can expect from my sausage link fingers this year:

  • Pack Mistress #3 in February, followed by the next five installments of this serialized novel every other month in 2012.
  • Are We Still on For Tonight? Dating During the Zombie Apocalypse in February. Yes, I know, this was supposed to be out a few days ago. I failed. I’m human. It wasn’t as funny as I want it to be, but it will be once you get your long, elegant digits on it.
  • Vampire Relationship Guide 3
  • Vampire Relationship Guide 4

…but that’s not all…

I don’t like to announce all the projects I’m working on because sometimes, they don’t come out right and they end up in the garbage bin instead of the bargain bin. It’s not until I have a really good fix on a project’s viability that I start talking about it. So while I haven’t set any official release dates for these projects, they have proved themselves solid and I’ve begun writing them with the intention to publish them in 2012:

  • The Recruiter: Erotica in a post apocalyptic, zombie-filled future? Yes please! This will likely be a serialized novel, like Pack Mistress. It’s dark, disturbing, occasionally funny, and always hot. I’m hoping to start publishing the series in July. Hussy Listers will likely get the first volume free.
  • The Undead Underwriter: Even hot vampire chicks gotta work for a living. The Undead Underwriter is a series of novels (what? Hussy’s writing a novel?) about a vampire girl working in the financial industry–because legacy planning for the undead isn’t just hard, it’s a nightmare. This series is a bit more spoofy, kind of like The Vampire Relationship Guide. Potential publish date for the first book, October 2012.
  • Community Theater: This is my first stand alone, non-paranormal novella. It’s a romance about a young widow who finds herself, and her second true love, while rehearsing for a community theater production. Potential release date is May 2012.

That’s all I’m ready to announce right now. But you should totally subscribe to this blog to stay in the loop!

Halloween–Everyone’s Favorite Day to be Scared

Halloween–Everyone’s Favorite Day to be Scared

I love Halloween. I don’t decorate, or give out candy, but I do allow myself to indulge in scary movies, books and video games while eating candy.

Wait. I do that every day.

Okay but on Halloween I let myself do it without feeling guilty so…yeah…there’s a difference.

If you haven’t read it yet, hop on over to Book Lover’s Hideaway to read a 1,200 ish word short story about Josie’s first Halloween after vampires came out. It was 10-years ago, Josie was young and sort of innocent, and technology was old school.

Check it out–you can even enter to win a set of books!

Updates

I’m still working on a cover design for the short story mentioned above. Once I have that, I’ll send it out as an e-book to all Hussy Listers and I’ll put it up on Amazon and Smashwords as a free download.

The zombie chick lit novella is…going. I’m having a little bit of trouble in some spots, which surprised me, but we are still on track for a December 31 release, so that’s good. Hubby is, like, totally not doing the cover for that one either even though I sent him concept art months ago. I think I need to coordinate a pushy email campaign in order to get him moving. Otherwise I’ll have to design my own covers, and they will look like this:

Let’s hope this doesn’t happen.
